How to get following.json and followers_1.json
  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile menu.
  2. Open Accounts Center.
  3. Go to Your information and permissions.
  4. Choose Export your information, then create a new export.
  5. Select your Instagram profile and choose Export to device.
  6. Choose only Followers and following from the Connections section.
  7. Set the date range to All time and the format to JSON.
  8. Download the ZIP when Instagram says it is ready, then unzip it.

Files to use here

Inside the unzipped export, open the folder named followers_and_following.

  • following.json is the accounts you follow.
  • followers_1.json is the accounts following you.

If Instagram gives you HTML instead of JSON, request the export again and choose JSON format.
